On September 28-29, 2017 Yerevan hosted international telecommunications conference “Days of Caucasian Cable Televisions – 2017.”

On September 28-29, 2017 Yerevan hosted international telecommunications conference “Days of Caucasian Cable Televisions – 2017.” Field specialists, cable operators, trade unions, device producing companies and representatives of the TV-Channels from Armenia, Georgia, Germany, Lithuania and other countries participated in the conference.

The most urgent and important issues of the field were discussed during the conference.

Deputy Minister of Communications and Information Technologies of Armenia Boris Demirkhanyan spoke about the issues related with the development of the cable televisions in Armenia, about its peculiarities and significant phase of its development. The Deputy Minister evaluated the current situation in the field in general.

In his speech, the chairman of the Georgian Cable Televisions Union Guram Beruashvili spoke about the most significant and actual issue in Georgia – relations between the broadcasters and cable operators. He presented the practice of Georgia and Europe about the Must Carry principles to the conference participants.

Sales director of the German Company Astro Strobe German Geer spoke about German operators, the president of the Armenian Association of Copyrights Artur Varderesyan made an interesting speech “Piracy” and Illegal Broadcasting - Situation analysis, effectiveness of the struggle, legal issues and decisions.” During the conference different urgent issues were discussed – like the questions related with the transition to the digital broadcasting. The field expert Dimitry Klesov reviewed the work of the world’s paid televisions, presented the perspectives and necessary conditions for the development of the field.

In the end of the conference, chairman of the Georgian Union of Cable Televisions Guram Beruashvili and the president of the Armenian Association of Cable Broadcasters Ararat Arushanyan signed memorandum on cooperation. In the frame of the conference, trilateral agreement was signed between the Georgian Cable Televisions Union, Armenian Association of Cable Broadcasters and CSTB.Telecom&Media.

 

Georgian Cable Televisions Union expresses gratitude towards the Armenian Cable Broadcasters Association and its president Ararat Arushanyan for organizing the conference at high level, for interesting topics on the agenda and exchange of experience which will assist the Georgian and Armenian cable operators to further improve their work.
